Luke Ruiter

Year @ Hope: Junior
Major(s): Political Science and Classics
Hometown: Holland
Interests: I love rock climbing, both outdoor and indoor at Scrapyard here in Holland. I love backpacking and being outdoors; this past summer I worked as a rock climbing instructor at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico which was pretty sweet. I haven't played an instrument since trombone in 9th grade, so while I am not a musician myself I love listening to music and finding new artists to enjoy. I also have accumulated a weird amount of knowledge about ancient and American history, and constitutional law.
Why you joined WTHS: I joined WTHS because I love music, and when other people share their music tastes with me.
Favorite Music: Mainly indie pop/rock/folk. Vampire Weekend, Andrew Bird, Lord Huron, Jens Lekman, Rostam, Beirut, Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten, Beatenberg, The National, Claire Laffut, La Femme, Lucy Dacus, Andy Shauf, Sufjan Stevens, Japanese House, Wild Child, Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail, Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys, Goth Babe, between friends
Show and Time: Discourse, Thursdays 6-7pm
